The Visual Export starts here.

I've moved to the Highlands. Inverness is home now, and after a much-needed break to get settled, I'm back. Boots on the ground in a part of Scotland I've always thought deserved more attention from a design perspective. That feels like the right place to be relaunching this from.

The Visual Export. The design advantage for Scottish business.

Not a new direction. Not a new schedule. A new name — and a clearer idea of where it's going.

Same fortnightly format, same focus on design and Scottish industry, same habit of saying things plainly that don't always get said. What's changing is the home it's working towards.

Eventually, The Visual Export will live on the mjdsgn website as a proper blog — full editions there first, then here on LinkedIn a little later for subscribers who prefer it this way. For now, it all still lands here while the foundations are being built.

The focus is also sharpening. Scottish business and industry, seen through a design lens. The questions that aren't being asked yet. The things worth thinking about carefully before saying out loud.

Same content. Every two weeks. Just a better name for what it always was.
