📕The IUCN redlist is the world’s most comprehensive information source on global conservation status of animal, fungi and plant species. Today, they have successfully assessed 163,040 species with a further 96,960 species to evaluate.🐅
💀From the data so far, over 45,300 species are threated with extinction. You may have seen figures list this watching a David Attenbourgh documentary or reading an online article.
So common are these claims that we are beginning to be anesthetised to the huge impact the climate crisis is having on the natural world. Its not until I actually sat down and researched the topic for envirograph I understood the true scale of the issue.
